My Training
I am trained in relational integrative psychotherapy, which means I combine different therapeutic approaches in my work. In ordinary terms these include:
Qualifications:
- Advanced Diploma and MA in Integrative Psychotherapy, The Minster Centre and Middlesex University
- Foundation in Counselling, Regents College
My work is also infused with:
- acknowledgement that neurotype is a key part of how we exist
- acknowledgement that we live within multiple systems (eg white supremacy, human supremacy, classism, ableism, patriarchy, heteronormativity) that impact our lives
- an inclination to translate experience into metaphor/image
- room for faith, spirituality and wonder, humour, joy and play
- belief that therapy should support a fullresourced life rather than compensate for an unresourced life
I am trained in relational integrative psychotherapy, which means I combine different therapeutic approaches in my work. In ordinary terms these include:
- acknowledging the past has echoes in the present
- accepting that talking with someone about their life requires respect and genuine curiosity
- accepting that the body has multiple ways of communicating without language
- seeing the therapist- client relationship as a place where the way you relate to others (and yourself) will play out, but where this can be observed more spaciously than in ‘out in the world’.
